March 4, 2010
What is lynx browser?
For someone which don’t know lynx browser is an internet browser;
like Internet Explorer or Opera or Firefox. Major difference
related to that browser is don’t display any images!
Lynx browser is made for a fast browsing and because display
just text aid internet users to focus attention just to content
information on websites; any another images, graphics or flash
technology is ignored.
More time I considered that browser totally insipid but when
I used with my settings I discover which powerful is. By the way,
another characteristics of lynx is the user don’t use the mouse,
just the keyboard.
At my office I need a browser which don’t have the same look
like a usual browser (IE, Opera, etc.), more that, I wish to
setup my lynx browser to have notepad appearance.
Home page for lynx is http://lynx.isc.org and download page
http://csant.info/lynx.htm.
After I download lynx, unpacking and install in my directory
make some modification on opaque.lss – file where lynx keep settings.
Bellow are my settings for my lynx browser (stored in opaque.lss file)
which have in comment (##) short explanation:
